It was business as usual the day Moses noticed the burning bush, an event that was quite common in the hot desert. Except this time the bush KEPT burning. And, “when…he turned aside to look, God called to him,” Exd 3:4 NKJV. You’ll have some of your greatest spiritual experiences in the midst of your everyday life–if you’re open to a divine interruption. Are you too busy working on your New Year’s resolutions that it would take fire from heaven to get your attention? You can be in the midst of a common moment, only this time the activity stirs an awareness that God is with you. When in the middle of your hectic day you notice something unusual…your first reaction might be, “I’m to busy to check this out…I’m not going to get off my schedule.” Yet in that moment you may have a unique encounter with God. When you see the unusual in the midst of the mundane, don’t continue business as usual. God may have planned that moment to be life changing for you and those around you. Look out, your next encounter with God just may be when you least expect it.
